Join us at the Bridgeways Community Open House on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 2:00–5:00 PM at our manufacturing facility in Everett. This free event is open to everyone whether you’re a local neighbor, business leader, service provider, or simply curious.

If you’re interested in innovative ways to address homelessness, unemployment, and mental health challenges, this event is a perfect starting point. You’ll not only get a behind-the-scenes look at our operations, but you’ll also discover how the employment social enterprise (ESE) model works and why it matters. 

What Is an Employment Social Enterprise? 

An employment social enterprise is a mission-driven business that hires and supports individuals who face barriers to employment such as people with lived experience of mental health challenges, homelessness, or involvement with the criminal justice system. 

At Bridgeways, over 50% of our employees are mission-based or have gone through our programs. We provide steady jobs, a supportive work environment, and the chance to rebuild lives through real-world work experience. 

How the Model Works 

Rather than relying solely on donations or government funding, Bridgeways operates a manufacturing business that produces high-quality parts for aerospace and other industries. The revenue we generate helps sustain our programs while also creating meaningful, paid employment. 

It’s a win-win model: 

• Individuals gain job skills, stability, and confidence 

• Our community benefits from reduced homelessness and increased economic participation 

• Customers and partners receive excellent service and high-quality products from a mission-driven supplier 

How It Benefits the Community 

ESEs like Bridgeways do more than provide jobs. We help break cycles of poverty, reduce reliance on public services, and build stronger, healthier communities. 

Every person we employ has a story—and at our Open House, you’ll get to hear some of those stories firsthand. You’ll also meet the staff, tour the facility, and learn how your support can make a real difference.
