Bridgeways works to target those exiting jail facilities within Snohomish County that are in need of case management and care coordination services. These are adults living within Snohomish County that have a need for housing, employment, and other essential services.
Three Cities, Everett, Lake Stevens and Marysville, representing over 215,000 citizens are combining to offer a new and innovative program for misdemeanor drug cases. Bridgeways’ SUD is a new pilot project that offers accelerated yet meaningful treatment solutions for justice-involved individuals.
MAP is a therapeutic court that uses continuous and intense judicially supervised treatment and services to reduce repeated misdemeanor activity. Bridgeways’ MAP Liaison works intensively with participants to coordinate and support mental health and substance use disorder treatment; encouraging high engagement and follow-through, to address underlying issues contributing to past offenses.
Bridgeways is part of the innovative therapeutic courts program with the Everett and Marysville Municipal courts as well as the Tulalip Court System. Our programs work intensively with participants to coordinate and support mental health and substance use disorder treatment. These programs reduce recidivism by providing defendants with a treatment-focused alternative to incarceration, helping to break cycle of repeat offenses which sidetrack or preclude stability and wellness.

Data collected by the MAP judges show graduates have experienced a 93% reduction of recidivism. Successful participation can help break the cycle of arrest, set participants on a path of recovery and stability, and reduce negative impacts on the community. Bridgeways’ MAP Liaison is a key part of the MAP team, which includes the judge, prosecutor, public defender, judicial assistant, and court administrator. The MAP Liaison brings an understanding of mental illness and the complex challenges people living with mental illness may contend with across life domains.
